I met this really nice guy on the beach, who, it turns out, lives in my neighborhood. So one night he, my girlfriend and I go out for drinks and a bite to eat. He was super-sweet, handsome, generous and very understanding, as my gf wasn't supposed to come - she just kinda horned in - and she talked so much that I felt like a third wheel on my own date. Anyway, the first red flag was when I was on the phone with a friend - who happens to be very ill, possibly terminally - and he kept asking her who I was talking to and what we were talking about. That kinda upset me. Afterwards, we went back to my house. My gf decided to sleep over, and I had a really hard time getting him to leave.

A few days later, he and I had planned on dinner. I called him from the beach and left a message that I'd call him as soon as I got home to tell him when to pick me up. Well, I was SO tired from running back and forth to the beach for the past two weeks (an hour's drive) that when I got out of the shower, I completely passed out from exhaustion. I awoke several hours later to frantic pounding on my front door. It was him, all dressed for dinner, bottle of wine in hand. "Oh, thank God," he says, "I'm shaking. I saw your car but the lights are out and I thought you were laying in there murdered!" Uh, okay. He expected me to just jump up, throw some clothes on and go. I explained that I was beyond exhausted, and I really needed to go back to sleep. So he kissed me. And kissed me. And kissed me, for FIVE MINUTES. Four and a half minutes longer than I wanted, but he wouldn't let me go...

Okay, so two days later I leave for vacation. Not only was it a 12-hour plane ride (with my 5 year old), but when I came back, there were a million little messes I had to straighten out and things to get done, which I told Mr. Man. But that hasn't stopped him; in the last two weeks he has stopped over my house twice (which I had told him previously was a NO NO since I have a child and I don't let dates near him), and called/texted no less than 24 times. I mean, call, leave a message, and wait for me to call you back! Don't just call all day till you get me. That just made me angry, which I wrote to him in an email. Such a scathing email, my guys friends said they'd CRY if a woman ever wrote them that. Not him, though, in fact he texted me again as I was typing this, asking if "I could consider starting over as two mature adults." !!!! What I'm considering, buddy, is a RESTRAINING ORDER. I must be one hell of a kisser.... (Oh, did I mention that things are starting to disappear from in front of my house...?)
